There are certain scriptures that seem to breathe fresh air into the soul, and Isaiah 40:31 and John 8:36 have always felt that way to me. When I began designing this print set, I kept returning to the image of a bird — something that represents both strength and release. Birds rise, soar and move with such grace, and there’s something deeply spiritual about watching them take flight. They reminded me of the freedom and renewed strength God offers us, no matter what season we’re walking through.
Isaiah 40:31 speaks so beautifully of hope: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles.” It’s a verse that has carried many of us through moments of tiredness or uncertainty. I wanted the artwork to reflect that feeling of rising, of being held and lifted by God’s gentle power.
The second print, carrying the words “Free indeed” from John 8:36, felt like the perfect pairing. Strength and freedom go hand in hand when we place our trust in Christ. True freedom isn’t loud or boastful — it’s a quiet confidence rooted in knowing who we belong to.
The deep blue background of both pieces was inspired by peaceful evening skies, full of depth and calm. The white vines curling softly behind the bird added a sense of grace, reminding me of God’s way of weaving beauty into every part of our lives.
My hope is that this print set brings a sense of peace and spiritual renewal into your home. Whether it becomes a focal point in your living room or a gentle encouragement in your prayer space, may it remind you that God strengthens, God frees and God carries you.
