The Fruit of the Spirit has always felt like one of the gentlest and most hopeful passages in the Bible. Whenever I read Galatians 5:22-23, I’m reminded that God isn’t asking us to strive in our own strength but inviting us into a life shaped by His presence. Love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control — these qualities grow in us slowly and beautifully, much like the quiet rhythms of nature.
When I created this piece, I wanted it to feel warm and welcoming, something that could sit comfortably in the heart of a home. The watercolour-style fruit illustrations seemed like the perfect way to capture the softness and sweetness of this scripture. Fruit is such a simple everyday reminder that growth takes time, nourishment and care, and the Spirit’s work in us is much the same.
