Three Ocean Bible Verses About Encouragement For When Life Feels Stormy

Bible verse ocean trio - 3 piece christian print set with waves and mighty love scripture.

There's something about the ocean that draws me when life feels overwhelming. Maybe it's the vastness - a reminder that my problems, however large they feel, are small against something infinite. Maybe it's the rhythm - waves that keep coming regardless of what I'm facing. Maybe it's simply that standing at the water's edge forces perspective.

We created this three-print set around ocean imagery because these particular verses capture different aspects of God's character that we desperately need in stormy seasons.

Psalm 89:9 reminds me God rules over the surging sea. When waves mount up - circumstances spiraling, chaos spreading, control slipping - He stills them. Not because I'm calm or faithful enough, but because His authority is absolute. I can't still the waves in my life. But He can.

Psalm 34:18 meets me in a different place. Sometimes the storm isn't external chaos but internal heartbreak. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted - not distant, not disapproving, not waiting for me to pull myself together first. He draws near when I'm crushed. That nearness doesn't always fix the circumstances, but it changes everything about how I experience them.

Psalm 93:4 shifts my focus entirely. Mightier than the waves of the sea is His love for you. The waves are real. The threats are legitimate. But His love is mightier. Not just stronger - mightier. More powerful, more enduring, more certain than any force that crashes against me.

Three-piece Christian wall art print set featuring turquoise watercolour ocean waves with Bible verses from Psalms 89:9, 34:18, and 93:4.

Together, these three truths create a complete picture. God is sovereign over my storms. He is near in my heartbreak. And His love is mightier than anything I'm facing.

If you're in the middle of overwhelming circumstances right now, may these ocean truths anchor you. The waves are real. But so is the One who rules over them, draws close to broken hearts, and loves with might that surpasses the fiercest sea.
